Steve Flynn will perform in the Montgomery County Recreation and Parks 2005 Montgomery Village Foundation's Summer Lawn Theatre on Sunday, July 3

With sounds reminscient of the good ol' days, Steve Flynn, of Mount Airy, is once again donning his tuxedo and hat as his tribute to Frank Sinatra's style of singing hits the road.

Flynn will perform in the Montgomery County Recreation and Parks 2005 Montgomery Village Foundation's Summer Lawn Theatre on Sunday, July 3.

This is one of more than 200 shows he's booked in the Washington-Baltimore area. What started as a part-time job has become a fulfilled life-long dream.

Flynn also performs hits from the likes of Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and other male standards singers of the "Rat Pack" time period.

For more information on the show, call 301-948-0110, x334. To reach Steve Flynn, email flynnatra@aol.com, or call 301-607-9116.

Second Saturday Stroll Sidewalk Sale seeks vendors

Sign up now for the Sidewalk Sale held in conjunction with the Second Saturday Main Street Stroll in historic downtown Main Street.

This event, held Saturday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., celebrates the downtown shops and restaurants of Mount Airy. Discover something new on Main Street, stop in to see old favorites, or just become reacquainted with what Mount Airy has to offer.

For $20 a space for the whole day, any Mount Airy business is invited to set up a booth along Main Street to highlight merchandise and/or services. Spaces are limited (about 20 or so) so booths are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Businesses will also need to bring their own tables and canopies if needed, none will be provided.

For more information and to sign up for a space, call Ben Gue at 301-829-2112.

Three Cheers for Carroll's

Regional Airport

Last Thursday Carroll County's Regional Airport was recognized as the 2005 Airport of the Year by the Maryland Aviation Administration, at the 10th annual Maryland Regional Aviation Conference Dinner and Awards Ceremony in Hagerstown.

The regional airport has been taking shape since the 1970's, with the most recent addition, a runway able to accommodate 30,000-pound single-wheel weight aircraft, in 1994.

The airport is operated from its own enterprise fund, not through the county's general fund. Gross revenues for FY2006 are expected to reach nearly $2 million.

For more information, call Gary Horst at 410-386-2340.
