Crosswalks on council agendaThe Town of Chevy Chase council meeting on Tuesday will focus on possible installation of pedestrian crosswalks at several town intersections. The discussion draws from recommendations made by the council’s traffic committee during the first phase of the council’s comprehensive traffic plan. The meeting is held at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall, 4301 Willow Lane. Call the Town Office at 301-654-7144 with questions. Montgomery’s Sen. Frosh honored in Annapolis Maryland state Sen. Brian E. Frosh (D-Dist. 16) of Chevy Chase was named Salisbury University’s 2007 John R. Hargreaves Legislative Fellow at a ceremony in Annapolis on Thursday. ‘‘Brian Frosh is perhaps best known as one of the great gentlemen of Maryland politics,” said Salisbury University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach, who presented the award. The unpaid fellowship includes a formal presentation to the university and surrounding community. Frosh will also meet with students in Salisbury and Annapolis. Frosh currently chairs the Senate’s Judicial Proceedings Committee. He is a Montgomery County public school graduate, with degrees from Wesleyan University and Columbia University Law School. Leggett seeks citizens advisory board members County Executive Isiah Leggett is taking applications for six seats on the Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board. Two of the vacancies must be filled by area business representatives and four by residents.
