David Hembrough and Leanne Gotard made excellent plays to first base, while Samuel Gotard and Thomas Ates had impressive hits to the outfield. The American Legion Post 171 Blue Tigers were led by strong defensive plays by Ryan Beltz and Stevie Johnson. Damascus Rotary Club 10, Damascus Lions Club 10 For the Damascus Rotary Club, Nathan Brown, Milan Chaudhary, Heath Cornwell, Andrew Hockey and Garrett Hunter had some great hits and made good fielding plays.. The Lions Club of Damascus players Kolby Barnes, Austin Brown, Richard Brown, Colleen Caffery, and Liam Esparraguera hit hard off the tee and had great fielding defense. Lacrosse Metro Girls Lacrosse League, U-13 Damascus Thunder 7, CIO 3 The Damascus Thunder earned a tough 7-3 victory against CIO. The Thunder jumped to an early lead with a Mia Winterburn goal in the the first minute of play. Winterburn and Olivia Lee led the Thunder with two goals apiece. Also scoring goals for Damascus were Caitlin Augerson, Meghan Lockett, and Abby Nespor . Nespor and Jess Jordan combined in goal to preserve the victory. Softball DASL 7-9 Division Wildcats 8, Blue Dolphins 8 The Damascus Wildcats, sponsored by Tsintolas’ Blazing Braces, hosted the Damascus Blue Dolphins, sponsored by Gene’s Johns & Rentals. Paige Atkinson, Allie Bacas, Courtney Conway, Katie Filberg, Mia Johnson and Megan Love of the Blue Dolphins played great defense, had solid hits and scored.
