Segments of the Capital Crescent Trail will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from June 2 to 13. The county’s parks department will be making trail improvements — adding a center line, installing 15-mile-per-hour speed limit signs and marking trail intersections and crosswalks.

The first segment to close on or around June 2 will be from Bethesda Avenue to Little Falls Parkway. Closures will happen in succession from Little Falls Parkway to Dorset Avenue, to River Road, to Massachusetts Avenue and finally to the Washington line.

The trail will be open on weekends and during peak bicycle commuter times during the week. Park Police will be stationed at segment endpoints while crews are working and the segments are closed.

Trail event on May 31

Residents can attend a Capital Crescent Trail event on May 31 aimed at promoting the trail and calling attention to the proposed Purple Line alignment that would run light rail trains along the trail.

The event called ‘‘Connect With the Capital Crescent Trail” will be 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Elm Street Park in Bethesda and along the trail east of the Wisconsin Avenue tunnel.

The Town of Chevy Chase and more than a dozen local community groups are partnering to host the event.

Real estate event

The real estate committee of the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce hosts a real estate event on June 6.

The event runs from 7:30-10 a.m. at the Round House Theater, 4545 East West Highway, Bethesda. The chamber expects more than 100 real estate executives to attend.
