A 26-year-old woman escaped from two men last week in what Montgomery County police are calling an attempted kidnapping and sexual assault.
Police say the woman was followed by two men June 24 after she got off a bus at about 7:45 p.m. at University Boulevard West and Dennis Avenue in Wheaton. The men were with a group of Hispanic males in front of a house on University Boulevard West. The two called out to her in Spanish and then began following her.
When she reached Kerwin Road, one of them grabbed her from behind and the other grabbed her legs, according to a news release from county police.
The victim tried to get away as one of the men attempted to remove her belt, according to police. A motorist stopped to help and the men fled. The victim was not injured, according to the release.
Police are looking for the public's help in identifying the two men. Both were Hispanic, age 40, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighed between 160 and 170 pounds.
One had one or two gold teeth and black hair cut above his shoulders. He was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and tan work boots.
The other had shaggy black hair and wore light blue cut-off blue jean shorts, a white long-sleeve shirt, and black shoes.
