Twice in as many days, I was referred to by my first name by associates working at a commercial bank in Germantown and a doctor's office in Washington. That seems a bit too informal for me. I'm a business customer, not a drinking buddy.

To anyone reading this who works for a business in the area, please address your customers as "Mister" or "Miss."

For those of you who think I'm just some old curmudgeon who keeps complaining about "remember when...," I'm not; I'm 35.
