Capitol College commits $500,000 for new program
Capitol College in Laurel has committed $500,000 in financial aid for freshmen in its new Emerging Leader Program. The program focuses on cultivating leaders and highlighting the college's concentration on science, technology, engineering and math studies.
"Students who participate in the Emerging Leader Program will have access to unique training and development opportunities to supplement their educational experience in the classroom," Dianne Veenstra, vice president for planning and assessment, said in a statement. "All aspects of this initiative expand our outreach to area middle schools, high schools and community colleges and improve retention and graduation of our students … "
