Prince George's County police are continuing to investigate a string of armed robberies and a carjacking that occurred within a span of 20 minutes the morning of June 24 in the Landover and Landover Hills area.
Police have made no arrests in connection with the spree.
Officers received reports of five armed robberies, one attempted carjacking and one carjacking between 7:29 and 7:49 a.m, said Sgt. Michelle Reedy, a police spokeswoman. As many as four men, all armed with knives, might be connected with all seven incidents, she said.
No one was injured in the incidents.
A man reported that three men robbed him at knifepoint at about 7:30 a.m. in the 7100 block of Varnum Street in Landover Hills, Reedy said. One minute later, two men robbed a second man and took money, a driver's license and check cards in the 4400 block of 72nd Avenue in Landover Hills, she said.
In addition, a man reported being robbed by two men in the 6500 block of Osborne Road in Landover at about 7:34 a.m. and, seven minutes later, two men held up a woman and took her purse in the 5200 block of Wiley Street in the Glenridge area, Reedy said.
A male also was carjacked at about 7:42 a.m. less than half a mile away from the Wiley Street robbery, in the 6600 block of Furman Parkway. The man was the only occupant of the car, a 1999 light brown Lexus that was recovered later that day, Officer Henry Tippett, a police spokesman said.
The crime spree continued with the armed robbery of a man whose cash and credit cards were stolen about 7:47 a.m. in the 4800 block of 66th Avenue, then ended about 7:49 a.m. with an attempted carjacking of a man in the 6600 block of Annapolis Road, according to Reedy.
Tippett said Wednesday that he did not know if any of the items stolen during the robberies have been recovered.
"Hopefully they can get some evidence from the recovered vehicle," he said.
Reedy said the victims described seeing either a green minivan or gray Honda Odyssey with the Washington, D.C., tag CV9942 at the crime scenes.
