Frances Mary Heck, 85 of Frederick, died Oct. 21, 2009. She was the widow of the late Frederick Heck that died in 2002.

Born May 29, 1924, in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Grace DeCicco Rizzi.

Mrs. Heck was a long time resident of Frederick. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church for nearly 50 years and was frequently recognized wearing beautiful flowers in her hair and bright red lip stick. She most enjoyed her time spent with her family and friends.

Mrs. Heck is survived by her three daughters, Kathleen Tokar and husband Pete of Frederick, Linda Seel and friend Ray Sword of Frederick and Loretta Hanway and husband Michael of Riverton, Wyo.; grandchildren Jennifer Smalt and husband Gary, Jessica Perley and husband Geoff, Brian Schlauch, James Seel and wife Myleen, Lisa Bowman and husband Greg and Joshua Tokar; three great-grandchildren Emily Smalt, Dylan Seel and Geoffrey Perley III. She was additionally survived by one brother, Michael Rizzi and sister-in-law Joan Cagliostro and husband Joe.

Visitation with family was Friday at Keeney and Basford P.A. Funeral Home, Frederick.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Oct. 24 at the Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Frederick. The Rev. Richard J. Murphy officiated. Interment was in Resthaven Memory Garden, Frederick.
