Vicky and John Billerbeck of Poolesville announce the engagement of their daughter, Karin, to Timothy Lee, son of Gabrielle and Dr. Charles Lee of Damascus.
The bride-to-be, a 2003 graduate of Poolesville High School, holds a degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland. She is pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Southern California.
The prospective groom, a 2003 alumnus of Damascus High School, holds bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland. He works for Boeing in Irvine, Calif.
The couple met on a relief trip to Mississippi to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina.
