Concerned about Angel Jones' behavior
|
What is it about cars and [Gaithersburg's] new city manager? If it's not asking for more money to do her job, it's now about loudmouth boyfriends with a fender bender. I find a number of things troubling about the article, ["City intervenes on boyfriend's complaint," Oct. 14].
I find it hard to believe that a simple question of how to file a consumer complaint easily escalated into tabloid journalism. A simple friend-to-friend contact came to this? Unlike the West Coast, where everything has an ulterior motive, here we try to solve problems without all of the fanfare, paperwork and entourage that seem to follow [City Manager Angel] Jones, and now "Mr. Jones." The real problem seems to be Ms. Jones boyfriend trying to throw his "imagined" weight around in a petty act of pomposity. [Jones' boyfriend Ruben] Heath is Ms. Jones' problem and not that of the citizens of Gaithersburg. If Ms. Jones cannot keep her man on a shorter leash, then maybe she should cut him loose.
How did someone from the United Food and Commercial Workers Local get involved in a fender bender? Does The Gazette now seek out people living in another county to consult on internal matters? Is this just a publicity opportunity for an individual with an ulterior motive? If I wanted to read sensationalist media tripe, I would subscribe to the Star or National Enquirer.
Ms. Jones stated that she will "think long and hard" about how she phrases questions. I personally believe she should think long and hard about a number of issues.
