Marge Stanton of Silver Spring, formerly of Chevy Chase, died Oct. 24, 2009.
Born Feb. 24, 1927, in Granite City, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Otto and Marguerite Hartmann.
She was the wife of the late Mearl F. Stanton for 29 years.
Mrs. Stanton earned a bachelor of science degree from Iowa State University in 1945 and from the University of Maryland in 1975. She earned a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 1981.
Survivors include four children, Hope Stanton of Nehalem, Ore., Lynn S. Sudduth of Indianola, Wash., Anne Stanton of Norwich, Vt. and Michael Stanton of Silver Spring; one sister, Billie Meier of Granite City, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12 at Riderwood Village, 3601 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring.
