Frederick consulting firm awarded contract
Integrity Consulting of Frederick was awarded a potential five-year contract from the Navy to provide program management and specialty support to the Commander Navy Installations Command and select subordinate regional commands, according to a company statement.
Integrity's support will span all command program areas, including administration, budgeting, finance, information technology, operations, personnel and training. The operations aspect will encompass the Base Realignment and Closure program as well as facilities and public safety, according to company information.
County honors several companies
Several Frederick County companies were honored at the annual business reception held by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development last week.
Canam Steel of Point of Rocks was named 2009 Frederick County Creative Business Planning Firm of the Year. Givens Collison Repair Center of Frederick was honored as the 2009 Frederick County Creative Green Stewardship Firm of the Year, while Widearea Systems of Frederick was named the 2009 Frederick County Creative Workforce Support Firm of the Year.
Widearea Systems was also honored as a 2009 graduate of the Frederick Innovative Technology Center Inc. incubator.
Annual economic symposium scheduled
The sixth annual economic symposium sponsored by the Frederick Innovative Technology Center Inc. incubator and others is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Weinberg Center for the Arts on W. Patrick Street in Frederick.
Robert A. Dye, vice president and senior economist for PNC Financial Services Group, will join local business owners and other representatives for a discussion on what businesses need to do to operate in the current economic environment. Production company hires new employee
Digital Bard Video Productions in Frederick recently hired Morag Reid for its creative team.
Reid is a native of Scotland and recently was a database administrator for Imagination Stage in Bethesda.

Seminar examines recycling, solid waste
Business representatives can learn more about recycling and other trash-reduction methods at a free seminar from 8:30-11 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Business and Employment Center, 5340-A Spectrum Drive, Frederick.
The seminar is being presented by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, the Frederick Department of Economic Development and the Downtown Frederick Partnership.
