The H1N1 flu vaccine will be available for pregnant women at a Montgomery County clinic next week, although the location and exact time is only being revealed to women who make an appointment in advance.
There are 300 H1N1 vaccines available at the clinic for pregnant women who call between 3 and 4 p.m. Monday to make an appointment, according to Mary Anderson, a spokeswoman with the county's Department of Health and Human Services. The clinic itself will be held on Thursday.
"If you get an appointment, then they will tell you where to go and when on Thursday," Anderson said.
Women who call to make an appointment will be asked for their name, phone number and their doctor's name.
The county hopes to announce flu clinics for other target populations next week, Anderson said, including health care workers, people who work or live with children under six months old, people with serious chronic health conditions, and young people age 2 to 24. But she said this does not necessarily mean that more clinics will be held next week.
Previous flu clinics scheduled for this month were canceled because county health officials did not know exactly when they would be receiving more doses of the H1N1 vaccine.
